Marshall Wynonna Earp
Context
Wynnona Earp was a 1996-1997 Image Comics Limited Series, back when Image was a more… adolescent brand than what it became.
The book was picked since it was typical of the formulaic, mediocre, exploitative “bad girl” genre that was rampant back then. Having writeups for archetypes can be useful, and Earp is easy to use in an RPG context.
It was also picked since the book and character had an obvious potential for being, as Bryan Ferry once said, more than this. Thankfully the later appearances of Earp (written after this profile was done) unearthed this potential.

Powers and Abilities
Marshal Earp is a peerless weapons expert, a crack athlete and has high honours in a wide variety of hand-to-hand fighting styles. She’s a hot enough markswoman to accurately fire heavy, unwieldy weapons in chaotic combat situations, despite her modest body mass.
Her greatest weapon is her ability to keep a cool head in the most heated situations, though.
Earp is a specialist in dealing with horrible, supernatural and/or super-powered cases – alone. She has no trouble engaging monstrous vampires in close combat with a cavalry sabre. In fact will normally manage to hack them to pieces.
Given the nature of her missions, Earp is routinely authorised to call in some serious Federal backup. Previous examples have escalated to having Apache gunships intercept and blow up pickup trucks full vampire savages. In DC Heroes RPG terms this is represented by her Rank.
History
Wynonna Earp claims to be a descendent of the legendary lawman Wyatt Earp . Her family branch is reportedly the result of a fling with Los Angeles actress Kelly Groves while Earp was working as a consultant on a western being shot in Hollywood.
This claim has neither been proved or disproved, though most who have seen Wynonna Earp in action tend to believe this is true.

During her whole childhood, Wynonna was told about the prowess, courage and dignity of Wyatt Earp. She soon decided that she would walk in the footsteps of her alleged ancestor. Earp proved exceptional as a student, an athlete and a law enforcement graduate student. She always ranked at the very top of her class.
After some time within the LAPD, she transferred to the Texas Rangers. From there she graduated to the new U.S. Marshal Special Operations Unit, aka the Covert Corps.
Marshall arts
This unit was tasked with below-the-radar missions having to do with superhumans and the paranormal. It soon acquired a good reputation for getting the job done. From this were derived their various nicknames from other cops – the Halloween Hunters, the Monster Squad, the Freak Finders.
Even in such a demanding environment Wynonna Earp again rose to the top, and proved to be an ace solo agent.
One documented mission of hers was the elimination of a rogue clan from the Vampire Nation. It was Bobo Del Rey’s band, the ancient cult El Inmortalaidad. These trailer park vampires were best known for being able to operate in broad daylight.
During that mission she allied with a pair of werewolves, out for vampire blood in order to avenge several members of their clan killed by the ultra-violent vampires.
Earp also tangled with an ancient Egyptian cult killing mob leaders using a giant mummy monster. She and mob allies stopped them before they could bring worldwide chaos for their primal goddess.
Description
See illustrations. That’s the most positive thing I can write, I think.
Personality
Earp is ridiculously fearless, driven and focused. Being a top law enforcer is her obsession and her entire life. She prefers to act with extreme prejudice against her usual targets.
Earp seems to thrive on tension and deadly violence. Her missions often boil down to combat missions – often with a general Tarantinesque From dusk till dawn vibe.
Quotes
(Arriving at a police siege) “The name’s Earp. U.S. Marshal Special ops. Tell your snipers I’m going to… ‘talk’ to the perp.”
Perp, after Earp shoots his accomplice down : “Y-you… shot him.”
Earp : “I realize it’s a shock to everyone, but bullets do tend to come out of a gun when it’s fired.”
“I’ve got a very generous uncle by the name of Sam. He gives me all the free slugs I could want. Assume the position or I’ll pass plenty of ’em around.”
“You can skip the part about being werewolves. I kinda picked up on that.”
“Too bad Ghostbusters is just a movie, sir. You had to call on me.”
Werewolf : “Well, Marshal…”
Earp : “Earp.”
Werewolf : “As in…”
Earp : “Yup.”
Werewolf : “Cool. ”
DC Universe History
Earp would presumably be a DEO agent, perhaps with a rivalry with Agent Cameron Chase – who is equally successful but employs very different methods, and would likely despise Earp.
