Z’bp

Context

This character is an original creation. We often call these “homemades” or “homebrewed” – think home cooking or craft beer.

Many of these characters were created to take part in tabletop role-playing game sessions. Others were invented as a creative writing exercise, often as part of a community event.

This specific character was part of a RPG campaign run by writeups.org contributor Kal El, set in Barcelona.

Powers and Abilities

Z’bp is one of the most intelligent members of the Z race, despite his present craziness.

He also has all of it’s race usual powers :

• Elasticity.
• Levitation.
• Transformation into a floating pod whenever they enter animated suspension.

History

Z’bp was one of the chief scientists on the Earth project of experimentation. Its greatest success was obtained from the cloning of a human being, Marcos Pedragosa. From there were derived the flame powered Pedra Roja and ice powered Pedra Blanca.

But Pedra Blanca appeared to be violent. He escaped the lab, also rescuing Pedra Roja before vanishing. Roja was left the same place Pedragosa had been found by the aliens, at the end of a hole in the mountains, where he had fall while trekking.

The problem there is to know who is the real Marcos Pedragosa : Pedra Roja ? Pedra Blanca ? The corpse later found on the Moon ?

Further research is needed

After the escape of Pedra Roja and Pedra Blanca, Z’bp and his crew followed experimentation for four more years, with many failures. It was clear that human beings had their own laws of mutation and evolution. And that Z-Technology was unable to proper twist their DNA to their own deeds.

On the other hand, the Pedra Roja/Blanca fiasco seemed to indicate that some humans had the potential to develop great powers.

The Big Heads asked for results: Z’bp reported and the Heads ordered the scientific team to return to Planet Z, as the Heads themselves were going to the Earth.

Z’bp had arrived to love Earth in the years there. Thinking the Heads wanted, as usual, to destroy the planet and its Solar System, he went crazy. The other Z’s decided to let him on the Moon Base, where the Barna Patrol found him eight months later.

Description

Z’bp’s body looks like that of a very short humanoid with long arms that arrive to the floor. He also has four inert tentacles, two at the sides, under the arms, and two on the back. These expand and cover him as a pod whenever he enters in suspension.

His head is round, with no face except a big eye and three vertical holes that act like mouth/nose.

His voice is delicate, soft and quiet.

Personality

Z’bp is mad as a hatter. But his madness makes him even more quite and peaceful than the rest of his race, and to willingly accept the incoming destruction.

He’s also deathly scared of Pedra Roja, specially from his “fire” or “stone” form.
